Puzzle of the Day

Thursday, April 23

Today's puzzle is from Anna J., who asks what is special about the words ALMOST and SPONGED. (Perhaps Dhruv, Tom, or Zoe can tell us?)

Check back tomorrow for the answer, a shoutout to all the solvers, and a new puzzle!

Previous puzzle:

Use what you have two of to reveal what we have only one of:

Answer:

This was a very EARTHy riddle for Earth Day. Each picture clues a word made of the letters of EARTH. The duplicate letters in each word—HEATER, EARHART, HATTER, HEARTH—spell EARTH again. (In a different order, they also spell HEART, which is something else you have only one of, and so was also accepted.)

Congrats to solvers Leo S., Dr. Yetman, and the Gregg household!
