Puzzle of the Day

Tuesday, May 5

What well-known brand (which you could find in any supermarket) sounds like it ought to have a logo similar to the ones in yesterday's puzzle, but was actually named for three patented ingredients which supposedly fight plaque?

(Four out of five ethicists agree that this isn't product placement since I wasn't paid to do it.)

Check back tomorrow for the answer, a shoutout to all the solvers, and a new puzzle!

Previous puzzle:

Don't get the logos on these two pieces of merchandise mixed up. One of them represents Indiana University; the other symbol generically represents what profession/field of knowledge?

Answer:

The Indiana University logo is a conjoined IU, but the logo on the hat is the Greek letter psi—as in psychology. Hence the outline of the brain.

These folks used their brains to solve the puzzle: Charlie, Aditi, Peter V., Peter M., Leo S., Atticus, Reade, Maddy, Anna K., Jason, Zachary S., and Dr. Yetman.
